Qualifying Information For Delegates

Open: Saturday, August 13th, 2011
Close: Friday, January 13th, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.
Fee: $150
Delegate qualifying is open and forms are available at State Party Headquarters. You can request to have a form mailed to you by contacting the State Party Headquarters or by filling out the information request form below. Delegate candidates must turn in their form on or before 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 13th, 2012, along with $150, payable to the Alabama Republican Executive Committee, to the State Party Headquarters by either certified mail or by hand-delivery. It is strongly recommended that you hand-deliver after the date of Friday, January 6th, 2012.
A delegate candidate must select to run for either a specific Presidential candidate or as uncommitted to any candidate. In addition, delegate candidates must choose to run for a specific slot on a “State at Large” basis (26 places) or a “Congressional District” basis (3 places per Congressional District) under a specific candidate or under the uncommitted label. (To clarify, there are 26 places statewide and 3 places in each Congressional District under every candidate). No person may run in more than one place as a delegate and Congressional District candidates can only run within the District in which they reside. A current list of delegates is available here.
Again, hand-delivery is strongly recommended to ensure receipt and so that the accuracy of documents can be confirmed. Documents are mailed at your own risk. Completed qualifying documents must be delivered to Party Headquarters by the provided deadlines. No extensions can be given.
