Birmingham — With the unofficial results in, the Alabama Republican Party announces that Robert Bentley has won the GOP Primary Runoff and will move on to face Democrat Ron Sparks in November. Rep. Mike Hubbard (R-Auburn), Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, issued the following statement:
“Congratulations to Dr. Bentley on winning our Party’s nomination. It was a long election from the Primary to the Runoff, but he ran a great campaign.
“We look forward to working with his team in the months ahead to ensure that a conservative Republican remains in the Governor’s office. I encourage all Republicans, no matter which campaign they supported, to rally behind Dr. Bentley and work to make this a banner year for the Alabama Republican Party.
