ALGOP Congratulates Martha Roby on Becoming Nominee in 2nd Congressional District
Birmingham — With the unofficial results in, the Alabama Republican Party announces that Martha Roby has won the Primary Runoff to become the Party’s nominee in the 2nd Congressional District.
Rep. Mike Hubbard (R-Auburn), Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, issued the following statement:
“We offer our congratulations to Martha Roby on her win and becoming the Republican nominee in the 2nd Congressional District. Both Roby and challenger Rick Barber ran clean, issue based campaigns and the Party appreciates the manner in which they approached this election.
“This election cycle is already shaping up to be a year of big victories for Republicans in Alabama, and we are excited to have Martha as the nominee to face Democrat Bobby Bright. Martha Roby epitomizes the principles of our Party and she will not compromise her ideals to garner favor with the liberals in Washington – the same can not be said for Democrat Bobby Bright.
“The people of Alabama are fed up with direction that our country is headed with Democrats in command, and voters know that the answer is not to send more Democrats to Washington!”
