Democrat Steve Raby’s Platform Features Lack of Substance, but Shady Past Should be Red Flag for Voters
Birmingham, AL – Following a meeting with both 5th Congressional District candidates, the Huntsville Times published an article, which can be viewed HERE, reviewing answers given by Republican Mo Brooks and Democrat Steve Raby.
Raby avoided many of the questions posed by the Times, which begs the question whether or not he’s even qualified for Congress, but instead hung his hat on his years of being a political insider. Raby’s political insider status reveals that he is the king of Pac-to-Pac transfers, as he launders millions of dollars in cash to hide the original source of campaign monies. “Democrat Steve Raby is everything that is wrong with politics in Alabama,” said Rep. Mike Hubbard (R-Auburn), Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party. “His political action committee financials read like the Christmas wish list for all special interest groups, and we find it laughable that Raby would even think of pitching himself as a representative ‘for the people’ if elected.”
While Raby insists that he is the right man for the job in North Alabama, the Huntsville Times points out that in many instances, Raby refused to discuss his stance on critical issues – like illegal immigration and healthcare.
“Alabamians don’t want a fence sitter in Congress,” Hubbard said. “They want a strong conservative who stands on principle and who will fight the liberal agenda of the very Party which Steve Raby is a member.”
“The choice is crystal clear for voters of the 5th Congressional District,” Hubbard concluded, “either a principled conservative who will fight for their best interests or a tenured money man for special interest groups – we believe they’ll choose the former, Republican Mo Brooks.”
