ALGOP Statement on Federal Office Results
Birmingham — With the unofficial results in, the Alabama Republican Party announces the following results for federal office:
U.S. Senate: Sen. Richard Shelby CD 1: Rep. Jo Bonner
CD 2: Runoff - Roby/Barber CD 5: Mo Brooks
CD 6: Rep. Spencer Bachus CD 7: Runoff – Chamberlain/Salter
Rep. Mike Hubbard (R-Auburn), Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, issued the following on these elections:
“We congratulate each of our nominees for federal office, and thank all of the candidates who stepped up to join the fight against the Democrats in Washington.” Hubbard said. “Alabamians are fed up with wasteful spending and government expansion by the liberals, and I believe each of our conservative nominees will work hard to fight back against the Obama/Pelosi agenda.”
“We will obviously have runoffs in two congressional districts, but we look forward to supporting the nominee in each of those after the July election,” Hubbard added.
