2010 Candidate Qualifying Officially Ends, ALGOP Qualifies Record Number of Candidates
Birmingham, AL – Candidate qualifying for the 2010 election cycle has officially closed and the Alabama Republican Party’s slate of candidates could not be stronger. The Alabama Republican Party qualified a record number of candidates this year, further proving that Republicans in Alabama are ready to send a message to the Democrats that they want conservative leadership.
Rep. Mike Hubbard (R-Auburn), Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, issued the following at the close of qualifying:
“As Party Chairman, it is exciting to witness the energy that has surrounded this qualifying period. We have qualified a record number of Republicans to run for public office this year and I believe we are on the road to having a historic election cycle. Given the overwhelming interest to join our Party’s ticket, even by former Democrats, it is safe to say that we are clearly the choice for conservatives in Alabama. I thank all who have made the decision to either continue their public service or to seek office for the first time. We wish all of them the best of luck on the campaign trail and look forward to going head-to-head with the Democrats in November.”
