Governor Riley Raises the Bar with Online Checkbook
Birmingham, AL – The Alabama Republican Party fully supports Governor Riley’s executive order which puts the State “checkbook” online. Governor Riley’s executive order calls for the creation of a new website which will detail all state expenditures, thus allowing Alabamians to follow their tax dollars. Along with supporting this order, the Alabama Republican Party backs the Governor’s push for ethics reform in Alabama.
Rep. Mike Hubbard (R-Auburn), Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, issued the following statement regarding the Governor’s groundbreaking order:
“I think this move will go over very well with the taxpayers, who deserve to see how their government spends their dollars. We commend Governor Riley for walking the walk when it comes to making government more transparent.”
