Democrats Look to Kill Session - On Day Three
Birmingham, AL – After all of the promises of ‘working for the people,’ in their response to Governor Riley’s State of the State Address, it only took three days for Senate Democrats to show that they would rather play political games than go to work for the people of Alabama. In particular, Senator Phil Poole (D-Moundville) effectively killed all progress on day three of the legislative session.
Philip Bryan, ALGOP Communications Director issued the following statement:
“Senator Poole may feel that he is a victim of a political game, but the only people that really suffered today are the hardworking families of Alabama who need economic relief. Senate Democrats promised in their response to Governor Riley’s State of the State that they would ‘come to work every single day thinking about one thing: What can we do to improve the lives of everyday Alabamians…’ – well, at least they got the ‘come to work’ part right.”
