Alabama Republican Party to Open Qualifying in Montgomery and Birmingham on Tuesday
Birmingham, AL – With the 2010 candidate qualifying period scheduled to kick off on Tuesday, March 2, the Alabama Republican Party announces that a special location in Montgomery will be available for candidates to qualify on Tuesday and Wednesday. The Party’s Birmingham office will also be receiving qualifying forms during this time, and for the remainder of the 30-day qualifying period.
Rep. Mike Hubbard (R-Auburn), Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, felt it would ease the burden on candidates to have multiple locations.
“Obviously with the legislature in session, there are a lot of candidates that are naturally in Montgomery, so we felt that having two locations would make it easier on everyone,” Hubbard said. “There is so much excitement surrounding this election cycle, having two locations open for the initial surge when qualifying opens also comes out of necessity due to the volume of people who are running his year.
“We have a lot of great conservative candidates who have announced, from the top of the ballot to the bottom, and we believe that 2010 will be a banner year for the Alabama Republican Party,” Hubbard added.
