VOTER ALERT: ALGOP Sets Up Voter Intimidation/Ballot Security Hotline in House District 40 Special Election

Jacksonville, AL – Due to recent reports of voter intimidation in the House District 40 Special Election, the Alabama Republican Party has created a voter intimidation and ballot security hotline. Voters can rest assured that any and all reports will remain anonymous, but all irregular activities that are reported will be turned over to the proper authorities.

Citizens of House District 40 may call the hotline if they, or anyone they know, has witnessed or been a victim of intimidation in the workplace by supporters of a candidate, forced to sign a “voter pledge card” by special interest groups or witness any fraud or suspicious activity at the polls.

Rep. Mike Hubbard (R-Auburn), Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party spoke out regarding these recent allegations and the severity of voter intimidation and fraud.

“There is no place in our electoral process for any citizen to feel pressure or to be intimidated into voting for one person or the other,” Hubbard said. “We take the enforcement of our election laws very seriously and encourage voters to be vigilant as the shadow groups that have recently engaged in false attacks will stop at nothing to get their Democrat candidate elected.”

“It is very sad that some groups are entering taxpayer-funded workplaces to intimidate voters or pressure them into signing their vote away, " Hubbard continued."We simply want these voters to know they have somewhere to turn and report these abuses.”
