Alabama Democrat Party Believes that Law Enforcement is ‘Bizarre’
Birmingham, AL – Yesterday, the Alabama Democrat Party officially joined forces with gambling bosses to stake out their territory – regardless of the law. Alabama Democrat Party Chairman Joe Turnham went as far as to say that Governor Riley’s efforts to enforce Alabama law were “bizarre.”
In response to the Democrat’s defense of activities that are potentially illegal, Rep. Mike Hubbard (R-Auburn), Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, issued the following statement:
“If the Alabama Democrat Party sincerely believes it is ‘bizarre’ for law enforcement to enforce laws, then their principles are in worse shape than I thought. While casino bosses and the Democrat leadership may believe that the investigation of illegal activity is not in their best interest, we applaud the Governor for having the fortitude to ensure that these businesses are legal, based on current law – and not based on the opinion of those who stand to benefit from it. If there is nothing illegal going on, then they should have nothing to worry about. If you will remember, the Democrats used this same ‘nothing to see here’ line regarding investigations of the two-year college system, and we all know how that turned out.”
