Phil Williams Wins HD6 ALGOP Primary
Birmingham – With 51.86% of the vote, Phil Williams has received the ALGOP nomination for the House District 6 special election to be held July 14th. Following Williams’ victory, Rep. Mike Hubbard (R-Auburn), Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, issued the following statement:
“The Alabama Republican Party congratulates Phil on his victory today. This was a hard fought primary and we are excited about working with the Williams’ campaign to ensure victory in the General Election on July 14th. The Party commends Tommy Carter, Frank Prabel, and Glenn Watson for the manner in which they conducted their campaigns – each would have served the taxpayers well. The people of this district deserve to be represented by someone who will look out for them, and not just for themselves. It is on that point that the voters must not forget the reason that this election is necessary. The conviction of a Democrat left the hardworking families of HD6 without a voice in Montgomery this past session, and further proves that, after 113 years of ruling Montgomery, the majority takes care of themselves first and taxpayers last. This culture of corruption is a sad reality that has been fostered by Democrats for too long, but one that can be remedied with the election of candidates like Republican Phil Williams.”
