Democrat Ron Sparks Breaks Clean Campaign Pledge, Epitomizes Arrogance and Hypocrisy
-
Birmingham, AL – While Democrat gubernatorial nominee Ron Sparks was attending a fundraiser with former Democrat President Bill Clinton, his campaign was airing a negative television ad attacking his opponent despite a promise to voters not to do so. Sparks made a big production out of his clean campaign pledge and made certain that everyone knew the pledge was his idea. He broke that pledge, however, less than two months later.
The Alabama Republican Party urges voters to call out hypocrite Ron Sparks, and to demand that he live up to his own clean campaign pledge:
“While it’s not unusual that a Democrat would break their promise to Alabamians, it takes some arrogance to do it less than two months after you made that promise,” stated Rep. Mike Hubbard (R-Auburn), Chairman of the Alabama Republican Party. “Ron Sparks has shown that he can’t be trusted, that’s a big deal in Alabama and it is our hope that voters will make him pay for his hypocrisy in November.”
“At the end of the day, Democrat Ron Sparks is part of the elite establishment that’s been feeding at the trough of taxpayer dollars for far too long,” Hubbard concluded. “Unfortunately, voters should expect a lot of hollow rhetoric, like his broken clean campaign pledge, between now and the election.”
