The following candidates must qualify with the State Party:
Statewide Candidates, *U.S. Congressional Representatives, Circuit Judges, District Judges, Circuit Clerks and District Attorneys

All candidates for county offices (including Sheriffs and Probate Judges) must qualify with their county parties whose contact information can be found here.
Qualifying ends on Friday, January 13th, 2012, 5:00 p.m. and all forms and qualifying fees must be delivered to State Party Headquarters by either certified mail or hand-delivery. It is strongly recommended that you hand-deliver after the date of Friday, January 6th, 2012.
Qualifying fees are determined in the following ways:
2% of the annual salary applicable to the office of Circuit Judge, District Judge, Circuit Clerk and District Attorney, paid by separate checks. One half to the Alabama Republican Executive Committee and one half to the County Republican Executive Committee or Committees of the county or counties served by the office, further separated in the case of more than one county based on county population according to the 2010 decennial census;
2% of the annual salary applicable to the office for any other remunerative public office which is not a county office as defined in such Section 17-13-5, paid to the Alabama Republican Executive Committee;
$50.00 for an unremunerative office other than a county office as defined in such Section 17-13-5, paid to the Alabama Republican Executive Committee.
Please note that county committees set the qualifying fees for county offices up to the 2% maximum established by state law.
Hand-delivery is strongly recommended to ensure receipt and accuracy of documents can be confirmed. Documents are mailed at your own risk. Completed qualifying documents must be delivered to applicable Party Headquarters by the provided deadlines. No extensions can be given.
